Oct 22

Team mode

No second PIN for sign-offs

When you're logged in with your PIN on a shared device, sign-offs don't ask for your PIN again, so you only enter your current PIN when you change it.

See when the device will lock

The account menu now shows a countdown to when a shared device locks.

Home

Short summaries on every card

Home cards now show a short summary, two across on a computer or tablet and one on a phone, and you can add as many cards as you like.

Something to see on quiet days

Every Home card shows its summary and progress bar even when nothing has happened yet, and cards that still need setup tell you what to add, like tills for cash counts or items for food waste.

Home keeps your place

When you open a card and come back, Home stays where you left it.

Account

Crop and zoom your profile photo

After you pick a profile photo, you can crop and zoom it before you save.

Oct 21

People

Everyone in one list

People shows your whole team in one list, with each person's role, PIN, and email login on the same row.

Add and invite in one step

When you add a person, you can set their role, give them a PIN, and send an email invite all at once.

See who can't log in yet

Filter People to see whose invite is still out and who has no PIN or email login, and resend or cancel an invite from the row.

Roles and permissions

One level per feature

Each role now has one level for each feature: off, lead, or admin.

Choose Home cards by role

Each role can pick which cards show on Home for the people in it.

Organization access by role

Switches on each role control who can manage people, roles, locations, billing, and standards across your organization.

Adjust one person's access

You can give someone access that's different from their role, and the differences are outlined so they're easy to spot.

Leads see the work they lead

Inbox, compliance, and the activity log show the work you lead, and the people list shows the team at your locations.

Shift plans leads can unlock a tablet

A locked tablet can be unlocked by a Shift plans lead with their own PIN.

Six roles to start from

New organizations start with six roles: Operator, Director, Manager, Shift Leader with Training, Trainer, and Team Member.

Organization

A tidier organization menu

The organization menu is split into three groups (across locations, company, and standards), and organization pages and standards each have their own dropdown.

Organization settings in one place

The separate organization settings page is gone, and old links still take you to the right spot.

Shared devices

A bigger PIN keypad

The PIN keypad is bigger and shows your location's photo and name, so the team knows they're on the right device.

Billing

Two plans for new locations

New locations choose between Starter and Complete, and locations already on Essentials keep their plan.

Oct 20

Permissions

See what you can't use and why

Buttons you don't have permission for stay visible but turned off, and hovering shows which permission you'd need.

Oct 19

Shift plans

Import a schedule from a photo or file

Import a schedule right from a shift plan, for one area on a day or every area for the whole week.

A heads-up on the wrong file type

If the file doesn't match the import you picked, Huddle tells you and offers a button to switch.

Training due on the board

A position rating that's due now shows up on the group in Shift plans.

A cleaner person menu

The menu on a person's card groups infractions, evaluations, and coaching together, and start early, end early, and mark absent together.

Checklists

Review and approvals in settings

Each location has a review and approvals page in settings, with items your organization sets clearly marked.

Review rules per checklist

You can set how review works for each checklist on its own.

Shared devices

Manage your shared devices

See every shared device in one list where you can search, sort, filter to locked devices, see when each was last used, and unlock or remove one.

PIN log in stays at the device's location

Logging in with a PIN keeps you at that device's location, and locking one shared device no longer logs you out everywhere.

Straight to the PIN screen

A locked or logged-out shared device goes right to the PIN screen.

Clearer setup errors

Setting up a shared device now tells you when the password is wrong instead of showing a general error.

Log in and sign up

Show your password

You can show or hide your password when you log in, sign up, or reset it.

Joining a team?

Sign up asks whether you own or manage a restaurant or are joining a team, and team members are told to ask their manager for an invite.

Errors where you need them

Problems with a field now show right under that field.

Food waste

Dollar amounts use today's cost

Food waste totals use each item's current cost and show wasted and donated together.

Counts stay put

Entries you counted stay visible after an item switches to being logged by the pound.

Vendors

Vendor photos

Vendor contacts can now have a photo.

Oct 14

Food waste

Log several at once

Type how many and tap plus to log several of an item at once.

Wasted or donated

Each item has a wasted or donated switch, with today's totals right there.

Oct 13

Cash counts

Count your tills from Home

A new Cash counts card on Home walks you through counting tills and the change fund, with a card for each coin and bill.

Note why a till is off

When a count doesn't match, you add a reason, and you can add an odd coin or bill when you need to.

Cash count reports

Reports cover day sheets, discrepancies, totals by till, and money in and out, with sortable columns and CSV export.

Food waste

Track food waste

Log food waste from Home or Team mode and track it against a daily dollar goal for each location.

Set up your items

Set up or import your food waste items, and your organization can set standard items for every location.

Vendors

Vendor contacts

Keep your vendors' contact details in one directory, add them yourself or import them, and see them on Home.

Checklists

Run a checklist several times a day

A daily checklist can run more than once a day, each run with its own window and its own late and missed rules.

Runs side by side

Responses show each run side by side, and you get one emailed report for the whole day.

Team mode

Choose Team mode cards per location

Each location can choose which cards show in Team mode, including Food waste and Vendors.

Shift plans

Training on the profile panel

The profile panel in Shift plans has a Training tab showing evaluations, reviews, and position ratings that are due or overdue.

Rewards

Import rewards

You can import your rewards list instead of entering each one.

Turn down a request that can't be covered

A reward request can be rejected when the team member doesn't have the tickets for it.

Activity log

Cash and food waste in the activity log

The activity log shows cash counts and recounts with totals and discrepancies, cash moves, and food waste and donations, with a food waste filter.

Settings changes logged

Changes to the daily food waste goal and to Team mode cards show in the activity log.

What's new

See what changed

A What's new window shows you the latest changes in Huddle.

Your latest tap counts

When you tap a task more than once, the last tap is the one that sticks.

Locations

Location photo as the tab icon

Your location's photo shows as the browser tab icon.

Links take you to log in

If you open a Huddle link while logged out, you go to log in and then on to the page.

Also in October: scrolling with touch and trackpads works better in menus and pickers, the iPad keyboard no longer closes pickers, there's no blank screen after a PIN log in, and dragging cards in Customize home is steadier.
